His Sunshine and Joy
Looking at the beautiful pendant he had commissioned for his beloved Edith, the Marquis of Exeter was filled with joy. He has always considered himself a man of duty, sacrificing his personal happiness for the advancement of the crown. He had spent years building up his estate, preparing it for the turn of the century. Nothing turned his eye from this all important work until he met her. His Edith was pure sunshine. She brought warmth and light into his dutiful life. On this night, the eve of his wedding, he planned to give his bride-to-be the monogrammed pendant he affectionately created which would be a constant reminder to her of his undying love.
Historical Fiction by Amanda Ashmore
The “EL” monogram on this pendant was inspired by an antique bed linen from the collection of Robin Molbert, a dealer of French textiles and owner of the online shop Fleur d'Andeol. Her beautiful collection was featured in the book The Art of the Monogram (2013), by Cynthia Brumback, as well as being highlighted in Victoria Magazine. The crown above this monogram denotes the royal rank of Marquis. This lovely piece has smooth rolled edges that catch light in such a brilliant way that when worn, passers by... will be drawn in like moths to a flame.
