A Parent's Blessing
While holding her newborn baby in her arms, Eleanor Grace thinks back upon her entrance into the world 26 years ago and her own dear parents whom she adores. She was the apple of her mother and father's eyes from the start. She thinks upon the stories of their having gone through many difficult trials while trying to conceive. They felt as though she was a gift from Heaven and they counted themselves blessed. She fondly remembers them expressing that she was a beautiful baby with blue eyes, red hair and a gentle disposition, who from early on, slept through the night. She recalls, upon them learning of her being a girl, that they decided she would be named after her great, great grandmother, Eleanor. On the day they received their precious baby, they placed her grandmother’s beautifully monogrammed EBG pendant around her neck. Today, while in her hospital room, she places that same pendant around her baby Eleanor's neck on this, the day of her birth, and imagines that what they saw in her, she is seeing today in her own arms.
